few weeks ago, aaron encouraged me to join Veet it Off + Nuffnang contest which i already blogged about previously (scroll down to read :D)
as i was googling about the contest, i found out thr's a similar contest going on at Veet's official fb page so i decided to join that one too.
and i submitted this!

and i have to bug & annoy most of my fb contacts to vote for me so that i can go into top 50.

then surprise surprise, thanks to my super thick skin, i managed to climb up the rank & secure a spot in the second page of most popular outfit within a few days!
you guys are truly awesome :')
and im forever grateful for that :DD
my simple naive mind told me that i never have to go for any interviews/audition & that the Veet team will pick the Top 10 finalists from the Top 50 pictures.
as i was goyang-ing kaki in my room, a Veet representative called me up, asking me to go for the Top 50 audition on last Sunday.
i died for a second.
im soooo not ready for that & never expect that i have to go for an audition to be in d Top10.
i was planning on not to go for it, really, coz i joined this for fun, plus, i suck at interviews :(
but at d same time, i really dun wanna waste my awesome friends' effort to vote for me everyday so dat i could have this golden opportunity.
in the end, i went for it anyway. FML
i went quite early to Menara UAC with the help of my angel, Emy.
(she even skipped her part time job dat day to teman me how sweet is that?!!!)
i cant thank her enough for what she did for me. super terharu okei :'))
she was with me all day long, teman me & helped me calm my nerves.
she even helped me photostat my IC & take passport pic berlatar belakang-kan her blue maxi dress at freaking 3 am
(coz my document for the audition was not complete at that time. typical last minute miya =.=)
she juz came back from her friend's wedding reception that morning feeling exhausted & she still layan me nicely.
jesz, emy's housemate is another angel. she went home early from a wedding reception jz to pick me up & help me complete the body measurement form at 12am (d nite before audition)
she even took me to a photo studio earlier that morning to take passport pic that i need (the attempt at 3am failed cz the printer didnt work well), stuck in a mini jam & we end up arriving bit late for her Sunday Mass.

(a self reminder NOT to do things last minute too. sigh. lesson never learnt =.='')
we arrived at 1.30pm, handover some documents, get some free Veet products :DD & waited for the briefing. the Veet staff is kind enough to let Emy stayed with me in the conference room till im done with the audition.
the audition was embarassing. LOL
im not a bubbly person to begin with (not with strangers, my frens lain cerita la), so you can imagine how awkward i was, standing in front of 6 freaking judges who were all staring at me.
i dont really know how to answer their questions gracefully, i end up looking like a total noob.
padahal soalan simple & straightforward, i still stutter like mad. FML
but thankfully they like my DIY baju that i wore & that kinda light up the room a lil bit :D
i also showed them some of my previous work - my handstitched sequin-ed prom dress & peacock feather dress pictures in my tab.
unfortunately i didnt get to demonstrate how to tie the halter dress to them. i did offer to demo but somehow they macam tak layan. LOL.
at d end of the interview, i was asked to catwalk, & oh boy my catwalk was a disaster.
takmao ingat balik pls. FML
i didnt expect much from it, really, coz thr's a lot more talented & confident people going for the same audition.
i left the place with a light heart, stress level down to zero, tummyache no more.
i dont care what the outcome is, it's a bonus if i can get into Top10 but IF im not shortlisted, at least now i know what an audition feels like & how to answer gracefully next time around & be more confident :D
with God's will, i got a call from Veet again last monday, congratulating me for getting thru into Top10.

i need to go for a beauty workshop this coming sunday for makeover & photoshoot, & thr will also be another DIY challenge by Yadotsa & catwalk practice.
sounds awesome kan? i really cant wait to go!! :D
My aim now is to just go and have fun, make some new friends & learn a lot of stuff from the experts.
but my biggest aim is to ace in the challenge, show them what i can do & hopefully *fingerscrossed* can leave a good impression n wow the judges, like, jaw-dropping kinda wow. LOL hopefully :))
it's really great to have the opportunity to show them what i can do, and i hope i can show it to more people during the upcoming workshop & grand finale, manatau can collab with local designers in the future kan?
a girl can dream. tehee :D
